In a bar in the middle of the night. The party reached its peak hours ago – time to go home, right? No, the party is just getting started! Somewhere between sunset and dawn, an electrifying, surreal and nostalgic atmosphere unfolds, led by the entertainer Frank – is it Frank Sinatra himself? The party guests experience a variety of situations through the Sinatra songs performed that night, from show acts to romantic memories, from intoxication to arguments.
In »Strangers in the Night«, choreographer Mirko Mahr uses the sensual language of dance to illuminate not only a party night with the world-famous songs of Frank Sinatra, but also the life of the legendary artist. The inspiration for this: Sinatra usually stayed awake all night for fear of the dark and often invited guests over to party with him. Based on a concept by Philipp J. Neumann, the production frames the song »My Way« in particular as clearly as the sunlight frames the party night and hints at the immortality of Sinatra's music.
