Biography
Sebastian Weber works internationally as a tap dancer, choreographer and lecturer. He began his career in the early 1990s under the tutelage of legendary tap dance masters such as Chuck Green and Buster Brown in New York. His lanky, highly musical style and his redefinition of tap dance as a contemporary stage form have brought him international renown. As a soloist, he has performed in Europe, the USA, Latin America, China and West Africa. As a choreographer, he has received numerous awards, including the Saxon Dance Prize and the Leipzig Movement Art Prize. In 2017, he founded the Sebastian Weber Dance Company, which has developed into one of Germany’s largest independent ensembles, performing its pieces nationwide and regularly collaborating with municipal and state theatres.
In 2026, he creates the tap choreography for the dance show »Strangers in the Night« at the Musikalische Komödie and is also a performer in the show himself.
