Orchester der Musikalischen Komödie

The orchestra can look back on a history spanning over a hundred years. It is the second oldest orchestra in the city of Leipzig after the Gewandhaus Orchestra. At the official inauguration of the Centraltheater (Central Theatre) on 30 August 1902, it played for the first time, directed by the Viennese conductor and composer Willy Wolf. It has been a municipal orchestra since 1912.
