No sooner has a duckling hatched from its egg than everyone teases it, saying it’s a very ugly duckling. Convinced of this, it finds little joy in life and sets out into the wide world, until it seems almost lost. But as it grows up, it suddenly rediscovers itself. Marko Drechsel, a clarinetist with the Musikalische Komödie orchestra, has created a new adaptation of the famous fairy tale for string quartet, narrator, and dancer.
