Guided Tours

Our house tours through the Opera House give an insight into the extensively renovated auditorium in its traditional 1950s style, as well as a small look behind the scenes.

The Technical Cabinet at Oper Leipzig houses over 300 pieces of historical lighting equipment from almost 150 years of theatre history. Initially founded in 1984 as a training centre for stagehands and lighting technicians, the Technical Cabinet is now a place for collecting and preserving. Spotlights, signal boxes and colour changers that have been found in numerous German theatres over the years are lovingly restored and cared for, their historical backgrounds researched and processed. The cabinet also has extensive archive and documentation material, which is used to systematically catalogue the exhibits and is being digitised step by step.

A fun tour of the opera house for children and their companions to join in. We discover the opera house on foot from the cellar to the roof and try our hand at singing and dancing.
