Princess Paula lived in a big castle with her father, King Konrad, and her sisters. »What does your love for me look like?« the father wants to know. »Like gold, like beautiful clothes!« Paula's sisters answer. »Like salt«, says Paula. »Like salt? Salt is nothing special!« the father retorts, and then he gets so angry that he chases Paula out of the castle.

When the entire country suddenly runs out of salt, the king realises that he has made a big mistake. Luckily, Paula is quick to forgive. Together with her friend Pit and a magic sack of salt, Paula sets out to save the kingdom. Along the way, they encounter all sorts of adventures – will the story turn out well in the end?
