Edward Clug tells the story of the daredevil Peer, who always wants to be someone else in the conflict between individualistic dreams and established social codes. In 2015, the long-standing ballet director of the Slovenian National Ballet in Maribor created his first full-length ballet for "his" company from Henrik Ibsen's world-famous drama.
Clug tells the story of Peer Gynt's adventures to become the Mountain King, his journeys and his return to a waiting Solveig as a parable about life and death. The well-known incidental music by Edvard Grieg was supplemented by other works by the Norwegian composer.

Edward Clug's ensemble is making its first guest appearance in Leipzig as part of "Leipzig tanzt!
