When festive sounds fill the hall, familiar Christmas carols ring out and young and old sing together, the most wonderful time of the year begins. At the Advent and Sing-Along Concert at the Leipzig Opera, the anticipation of Christmas becomes a musical experience for the whole family.

The Leipzig Oper Children’s and Youth Choir, the opera choir, the Gewandhaus Orchestra and members of the ensemble invite you to an atmospheric programme full of Christmas classics and musical surprises. From the enchanting sounds of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker to the festive A Christmas Festival, right through to contemplative melodies such as O Holy Night and the Evening Blessing from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, a musical Advent unfolds, brimming with splendour, warmth and Christmas magic.

And best of all: you’re not just invited to listen, but to sing along too! Whether it’s O du fröhliche, O Tannenbaum, Ihr Kinderlein kommet or Joy to the World – many popular Christmas carols invite you to let your voice be heard and celebrate the magic of this special time together.

Sing along and get into the Christmas spirit with us!
