To get children excited about classical music, to discover »ancient« compositions for the concert hall, theatre or church with them, to give them an opportunity to get to know and appreciate simple listening as an experience, to let them try out the role of an audience, to enable them to meet professional musicians and to make them curious about the great treasure of Western musical culture, which a whole lifetime would not be enough to explore, that is the idea of this music festival. In addition, young talents who already compose themselves can find a podium here to perform their works.
In 2025, Mozart's »Magic Flute« will be on the programme in a version for families by Stephan Gogolka and directed by Ulrike Zeitz. The Musikalische Komödie orchestra will once again perform under the direction of Christiane Bräutigam.
