Richard Wagner's opera "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" (The Mastersingers of Nuremberg) deals with the position of art and artists in society like no other of his works. Unlike the poetry of the Nuremberg masters with its traditional set of rules, art only unfolds through change and transformation, so the thesis. Or, as Wagner himself puts it, "Children, create something new!"
