Biography
Born in South Korea. Conducting studies at the Universities of Music in Munich and Detmold. Following engagements at Theater Bielefeld and Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen, appointed Kapellmeister at Theater Kiel for the 2018/19 season. There she conducted productions including »Die Zauberflöte«, »Die Frau ohne Schatten«, »Pique Dame«, »Don Giovanni«, »Cavalleria rusticana«, »Pagliacci«, the world premiere of »Falscher Verrat«, the ballets »Schwanensee« and »Romeo und Julia«, as well as numerous concerts.
Deputy General Music Director at Theater Aachen in the 2019/20 season. Subsequently appointed First Coordinating Kapellmeister at Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. Productions there include »Salome«, »Hänsel und Gretel«, »La Bohème«, »Die lustige Witwe«, »Rusalka«, »Aida«, »La finta giardiniera«, »Carmen« and the ballet »Der Nussknacker«. In the 2023/24 season, she conducted »Nabucco«, »Die schweigsame Frau«, »La traviata« and »Hoffmanns Erzählungen«, among others.
Guest engagements at theatres in Koblenz, Erfurt and Gießen, with Nürnberger Symphoniker, Münchner Symphoniker and Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal, as well as at Brucknerhaus Linz and Aalto-Theater Essen. Debut at Semperoper Dresden in the 2022/23 season with »Die Gespenstersonate«.
First Kapellmeister at Oper Leipzig since the 2024/25 season.
