Biography
A native of Lüneburg, he studied musical theater from 2009 to 2013 at the Bavarian August Everding Theater Academy in Munich and was a prize winner at the 40th National Singing Competition in 2011. In 2012, he played the role of Fedya (Anatevka) at the Bad Hersfeld Festival. In 2013, following his role as Claude (Hair) at the Bad Vilbel Festival, he joined the Dresden State Operetta as a permanent member of the company. Jannik Harneits most important roles there included Seymour (The Little Shop of Horrors), Mottel Kamzoil (Anatevka), Jean-Michele (La Cage aux Folles), Rocky (The Rocky Horror Show), Steppke (Frau Luna), Frank Abagnale Jr. (Catch Me If You Can, DEA), Monostatos (The Magic Flute), and Gwynplaine in the world premiere of »The Man Who Laughs«, for which he was nominated for Best Leading Actor by the German Musical Academy. Since 2019, following his permanent engagement, Jannik Harneit has been making guest appearances at a wide variety of theaters throughout the German-speaking world, including the Theater Osnabrück, the Chemnitz Opera, the Musikalische Komödie, the Theater Magdeburg, the Festspielhaus in Füssen, the Theater Neustrelitz, the Theater Hof, the Landestheater Linz (Austria), and the Theater Lüneburg. Among the roles he has performed there are Ozzie and Chip (On the Town), Sigismund (Im weißen Rössl), Count Boni (Die Csárdásfürstin), Simon (Jesus Christ Superstar), Stoker Barrett (Titanic), tap dancer Pete (Famous Door on Swing Street), Tony (West Side Story), Ren (Footloose), Cliff (Cabaret), Michael/Dorothy (Tootsie), Artus (Artus – Excalibur), and Monte Cristo (The Count of Monte Christo).
