            • Arrive well - through structured and appreciative onboarding

A successful start lays the foundation for a successful collaboration. That's why a structured, personalised and appreciative induction is important to us at Oper Leipzig. Our onboarding process is more than just working through a checklist:

New employees at Oper Leipzig are integrated into the team from day one through clear processes, transparent information and structured integration. Good onboarding is essential for us, especially in our diverse theatre operations with different locations within Leipzig, the trades and artistic areas. We make sure that new employees not only get to know their workplace well, but also the culture of our theatre.

            • Capital-forming benefits

To promote financial security, we offer an allowance for capital-forming benefits. This state-subsidised savings opportunity can help you achieve your financial goals and make long-term provisions for the future - a valuable benefit that can provide additional financial freedom.

            • JobTicket subsidy

With the job ticket subsidy, you benefit from a discounted ticket for local public transport, be it the MDV ticket or the Deutschlandticket. This not only saves money on travelling to work, but also actively contributes to environmental protection and promotes public transport. With the JobTicket, our employees can travel to work comfortably, safely and stress-free. Whether bus, tram or regional train, you benefit from the attractive conditions and a fixed monthly subsidy from Oper Leipzig.

            • JobRad - Healthy, sustainable and flexible mobility

With the JobRad®, we are making a joint contribution to greater sustainability and at the same time promoting the health and mobility of our employees. • Health measures

Oper Leipzig attaches great importance to the health and well-being of its employees. We offer numerous health measures, such as freely accessible water dispensers, back training courses to prevent posture problems, an active break, workshops and events on changing health topics (resilience, nutrition, sport, etc.). We also organise a health day at regular intervals, on which various health and fitness activities are offered and can be actively used, which also strengthens our sense of community.

Oper Leipzig also supports the prevention programme of the German Pension Insurance (RV fit), which is offered close to home and alongside work.

            • Increased sickness benefit supplement in the event of illness

Health is the highest good and is therefore also at the centre of attention at Oper Leipzig. As a public employer, it is therefore a matter of course for us not to leave our employees alone in the event of illness. We see it as our responsibility to ensure the financial security of our employees in difficult times.

With the continued payment of remuneration in the event of illness, we offer our employees reliable support, because if you are absent due to illness, you will not only continue to receive your full salary/remuneration for 6 weeks, but also a sick pay allowance. For employees, this means security and the ability to concentrate solely on their recovery without having to worry about their financial situation.

We are convinced that those who give their best every day deserve our full support in the event of illness.

            • Company integration management (BEM)

As part of the BEM programme, Oper Leipzig supports all employees who wish to return to work step by step. Employees who have been unfit for work continuously or repeatedly for more than 6 weeks in total within the last 12 months (regardless of the cause of the illness) in accordance with Section 167 (2) SGB IX are offered a voluntary BEM programme. The BEM team listens, analyses the situation together with the employee concerned and works with the employee to develop solutions that can be implemented in order to best adapt the workplace to the employee's needs. Transparency, discretion and compassion are emphasised. The primary goal is to clarify together how the inability to work can be overcome as far as possible and how a recurrence of the illness can be prevented. Making it easier for employees to return to work and promoting their long-term health and ability to work is at the centre of the BEM. After all, our employees are more than just workers for us, they are the most important part of our theatre.

            • Canteen at the Oper Leipzig

Our canteen provides employees with tasty and healthy meals at a reduced price during their lunch break or after the end of rehearsals. The varied offerings are specially tailored to the needs of employees, so that a balanced diet is possible. The weekly changing offers are always announced on the intranet and on the notice boards.

            • Discounted tickets/attendance at dress rehearsals

Employees benefit from exclusive discounts for selected performances at the Opera, Musikalische Komödie, Leipzig Ballet and other cultural institutions of the Stadt Leipzig (such as the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig, Schauspiel Leipzig or Theater der jungen Welt). We regularly inform our employees about ticket offers for impressive performances, to which family and friends can also be invited at reduced admission prices. A real advantage for culture lovers!

It is also possible to attend dress rehearsals at the Opera, Musical Comedy and Leipzig Ballet in order to get an impression of the quality of the productions before the premiere.

            • Corporate benefits - exclusive advantages for employees

Employees of Oper Leipzig benefit from an attractive additional offer - corporate benefits. These are exclusive discounts from a wide range of providers in the areas of travel, fashion, leisure, technology and living. Once a month, our employees who have registered free of charge are informed by e-mail about new offers, discount campaigns and other highlights. The corporate benefits are an additional component and a practical plus for everyday life.

            • Further training opportunities

The personal and professional development of our employees is important to us. Targeted training and further education opportunities and a customised personnel development concept give interested parties the chance to develop their skills and their own personal career. Regardless of whether you want to deepen your specialist knowledge or acquire new skills - we offer our support within the framework of our annually growing training and further education budget and the opportunities offered by Leipzig City Council as a whole, so that you can continue to develop both professionally and personally.

            • Coaching - individual as individual and group coaching (personnel development)

The personal and professional development of our employees is very important to us. As part of its personnel development programme, Oper Leipzig offers targeted coaching measures, which are carried out as individual or group coaching sessions depending on requirements and objectives.

Coaching opens up the opportunity for reflection, strengthens the role in the professional context and can provide support in finding solutions and challenges in everyday working life. Whether for the further development of communication skills, to accompany change processes or to promote leadership potential, coaching is diverse and practical.

Coaching is Oper Leipzig's active support for all those who want to think ahead and develop further.

            • Educational leave - 3 days for your personal and professional development

Oper Leipzig supports lifelong learning. For this reason, our employees have the opportunity to take 3 days of educational leave each year. This additional leave can be used for recognised further training courses that serve both personal development and professional qualification.

Whether it's a language course, communication training, seminars to promote resilience or specialist training - educational leave offers the opportunity to gain new impetus, develop personal skills and return to work stronger than before.

Educational leave is granted on application in addition to regular holiday leave and is an expression of our commitment to the development and satisfaction of our employees. Our aim is not only to strengthen skills, but also to promote motivation for lifelong learning.

            • Work-Life-Balance

One of our core objectives is to anchor work-life balance as an integral part of our work culture. We therefore find the best solutions in a trialogue with the task, the team and the individual employee in order to promote compatibility between private life/family and work. Flexible working time models, as well as part-time work or the opportunity to take a sabbatical, make it possible to harmonise professional obligations with personal needs. In 2023, we were the first German theatre to undergo the first auditing process by berufundfamilie GmbH and still hold the seal today.

            • Partly mobile working options - remote, hybrid or office

At Oper Leipzig, mobile working is possible in many areas - depending on the respective tasks, the operational circumstances and in consultation with the manager. Oper Leipzig thus offers employees the opportunity to choose their place of work flexibly - in the office, from home or hybrid. These different forms of working enable self-determined, focussed work and make it easier to balance work and private life.

Mobile working does not take place within rigid guidelines or regulations, but is a model orientated towards the needs, requirements and activities of employees. The focus is on smooth cooperation between the different areas of work.

Oper Leipzig creates a framework for creative phases, working with trust and appreciation, personal responsibility and flexibility.

            • Mental health coaching in cooperation with the Fürstenberg Institute

The well-being of its employees is very important to Oper Leipzig - not only in a professional context, but also in their private lives. That's why, in cooperation with the renowned Fürstenberg Institute, we offer a confidential counselling and coaching service to support our employees and their families during stressful phases in their lives.

Whether it's excessive demands at work, private conflicts, family challenges or personal crises - mental health coaching is available to our employees free of charge, anonymously and independently. If required, our employees can contact us by telephone or online. The counselling sessions are always individual, solution-oriented and can also be provided in different languages on request. With this service, Oper Leipzig aims to strengthen the mental health of its employees and set an example for an open, respectful approach to mental stress.

            • Special company leave - special occasions deserve special appreciation

There are events in life that are unique and unrepeatable - whether it's a christening, youth consecration, confirmation, communion or the wedding of your own child. Our employees receive special company leave for these personal milestones. In this way, we want to create space for family, solidarity and shared moments and emphasise the need to reconcile professional commitment with family obligations.

            • Experience community

At Oper Leipzig, the focus is not only on daily collaboration, but also on consciously fostering a lively sense of community. Emphasis is placed on open dialogue, mutual support and the development of cross-divisional networks. Annual events are organised to strengthen the sense of togetherness and promote cooperation across all areas and divisions.

A special highlight right at the start of each new season is the season opening event. It kicks off the season and is also a time to get to know new employees and start the theatre year with anticipation and curiosity.

Shortly before the summer break, we celebrate summer parties. It's a great opportunity to bring the past season to a close together and simply get talking to each other.

Another part of our internal dialogue is the annual general meeting. This is an opportunity for all employees to come together and discuss current and important issues at Oper Leipzig with the theatre management and the staff council. The management provides information, thus creating transparency and giving room for questions, ideas and impulses.

The annual internal presentation of the new programme is a special moment for all interested employees. Even before the public presentation, all employees are given an exclusive insight into the coming season. It arouses curiosity about the new productions and provides a shared view of the artistic focus and structural planning of Oper Leipzig.

Many years of service deserve recognition, appreciation and time for socialising. With our annual anniversary event, we honour employees who have been associated with Oper Leipzig for many years with their experience, commitment and passion. Together with the management and the staff council, we invite you to a special internal event in a festive setting. The musical accompaniment lends the ceremony a dignified tone, while stimulating conversations and a relaxed atmosphere allow us to look back and forward. This meeting is more than just a thank you - it is an expression of our togetherness and our appreciation for what is achieved together on and off the stage every day.

Collectively agreed benefits for TVöD employees

            • Table remuneration TVöD

Oper Leipzig offers all TVöD employees fair and transparent remuneration in accordance with the collective agreement for the public sector. Performance and commitment are honoured within a fair and appropriate framework.

Our employees also benefit from attractive special payments. In November, they receive a collectively agreed annual special payment and in December a performance-related payment. These additional payments recognise both the commitment and the individual performance of each employee over the course of the year.

Loyalty and long service to Oper Leipzig pay off. We honour our employees for many years of service with a one-off special payment. This token of appreciation emphasises the importance of consistency and commitment in our company.

            • Company pension scheme

With the ZVK Sachsen company pension scheme, we offer our employees valuable security for the future and actively support them in building up additional pension provision. This pension scheme makes it possible to make early provision for retirement and to benefit from a stable, state-subsidised pension scheme that offers security in addition to the statutory pension.

The company pension scheme supplements the statutory pension and offers solid financial security in old age. In addition to the option of converting your own contributions, we pay an additional subsidy to the company pension scheme and thus strengthen the future and financial security in old age together with our employees.

            • Recreational holiday

With currently 30 working days' holiday per calendar year and, from 2027, even 31 days' holiday, we offer sufficient time for rest and regeneration. Depending on the area, holidays are taken during the theatre holidays (based on the summer holidays in Saxony), but also partly during the season. The theatre holidays are announced well in advance to ensure that all employees can plan their holidays well in advance and without time pressure, allowing them to take a relaxing break.

            • Special leave under collective agreements

Our employees not only enjoy fair working conditions, but also special days off at the end of the year. On both 24 December (Christmas Eve) and 31 December (New Year's Eve), our employees receive special leave in accordance with the collective agreement. This leaves plenty of time for family, relaxation and personal rituals on these special days. This extra time off around the public holidays is an expression of our appreciation and our commitment to work-life balance. If the collectively agreed day off on 31 December cannot be granted for work-related reasons, it will be made up for in good time.

Collective benefits for artistic employees and orchestral musicians

            • Individual fee and table remuneration Art

Employees who are employed according to NV Bühne or TVK benefit from a specially developed remuneration system that values artistic expertise and contribution to the musical performance. The system takes into account both the individual employee's wealth of experience and qualifications and encourages personal development. As part of this pay system, Oper Leipzig was the first German theatre to win the German Equal Pay Award in 2024.

For choristers and orchestral musicians, Oper Leipzig offers fair and transparent remuneration in accordance with the NV Bühne collective agreement and the TVK. Performance and commitment are honoured within a fair and appropriate framework.

In addition, the salary is supplemented by an annual special payment of 72%. 72%, which is paid in June (2/3) and November (1/3).

Loyalty and long service to Oper Leipzig pays off. We honour our employees for many years of service with a one-off special payment. This token of appreciation emphasises the importance of consistency and commitment to Oper Leipzig.

            • Company pension scheme

The company pension scheme of the Bayerische Versorgungskammer offers our employees who are employed under NV Bühne or TVK reliable security for their retirement. The various pension options ensure that our employees can continue to benefit from a stable financial basis even after their active career. The Bayerische Versorgungskammer also provides personalised advice on the best options. Oper Leipzig makes a regular monthly contribution, thus sending a clear signal of appreciation for their work and their contribution to our cultural mission.

            • Recreational holiday

Our employees who are employed under NV Bühne or TVK receive 45 calendar days of leave per year under the collective agreement, which is taken during the theatre holidays. This allows our employees to regenerate sufficiently and take a creative break in order to help shape future artistic projects with renewed energy.

There is also the option of taking individual paid guest holidays. This flexible arrangement supports a healthy work-life balance and promotes individual artistic development.
