Biography
Thomas Pigor grew up in Lower Franconia and has lived in Berlin since 1985. He was a member of the music theatre company »College Of Hearts« and has been part of the duo »Pigor sings – Benedikt Eichhorn must accompany« since 1995. The two have received numerous awards for their satirical programmes (Volume 1–X), including the German Cabaret Award, the Austrian Cabaret Award and the Salzburg Bull.
Thomas Pigor's songs have been interpreted by numerous artists. He is also active as a librettist and composer for musical theatre. Recent works include the revue operetta »Drei Männer im Schnee« (Gärtnerplatztheater, Munich), his adaptation of the comic oratorio »Das Leben des Brian« and the Donizetti chamber opera »Rita«.
His work for radio is also noteworthy. Among other things, from 2010 to 2018 he regularly produced a »Chanson of the Month« on a current topic, which was broadcast by SWR2, WDR5, NDR, Ö1 and Deutschlandfunk.
