Simone Schneider

Biography

Studied voice at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and with her father, Dietrich Schneider. She was a member of the Bavarian State Opera’s opera studio and was a member of the ensemble at  the Gärtnerplatztheater München. She has been a member of the ensemble at the Staatsoper Stuttgart since 2006, where she has sung such roles as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Giunia in Lucio Silla, Elettra in Idomeneo, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Mary Stuart in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, the countess in Le nozze di Figaro, Madame Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmélites, Chrysothemis in Elektra, Gutrune in Götterdämmerung, and Alice Ford in Falstaff. She has appeared as a guest at the Staatsoper Hannover, the Semperoper Dresden, at the Theater Basel, the Aalto-Theater in Essen, and in Bern. She appeared as the title role in Schweitzer’s Alceste both at the Ludwigsburger Festspielen and on the CD recording of the same. She appeared as Christine under the direction of Prof. Ulf Schirmer in Strauss’ Intermezzo at the Richard Strauss Festival in 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. She appeared at the Oper Leipzig in the 2014/15 season as the empress in Die Frau ohne Schatten, and in  the 2018/19 season as Sieglinde in Die Walküre.
