Simon Münzmay

Biography

Simon Münzmay was born in Heilbronn in 1990 and received his first piano lessons at the age of 5. At the age of 16, he made his debut as a soloist at the Heilbronn Concert Hall with Gershwin's »Rhapsody in Blue«. After completing his studies, guest engagements took him to the Leipzig Opera, Magdeburg Theatre, Plauen-Zwickau Theatre and theatres in Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen and Rostock. In Hamburg, he conducted the German premiere of »I due Figaro« by Saverio Mercadante as well as Offenbach's »Orpheus in the Underworld« and »La Traviata« by Giuseppe Verdi. In addition to his enthusiasm for opera and operetta, he is also interested in musicals, including conducting several performances of the musical »Der Medicus« by Iván Macías at the Plauen-Zwickau Theatre in 2025. He lives with his family in Leipzig.

Simon Münzmay has already worked as a musical assistant and répétiteur at the Musikalische Komödie. He also conducts »Evita«.
