Biography

Received his artistic and pedagogical train at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold and the Musikhochschule in Hanover. He has had engagements at the Theater Erfurt and the Nationaltheater Mannheim. He is a prize winner of the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World. His roles include Hagen, Fasolt, Fafner, Hunding (»Der Ring des Nibelungen«), Sarastro (»The Magic Flute «), Filippo II, Grand Inquisitor (»Don Carlo«), Fiesco (»Simone Boccanegra«), Hermit, Kaspar (»Der Freischütz«), Sir John Falstaff (»Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor«), König Treff, Cook (»Die Liebe zu den drei Orangen«) and Tierbändiger and Athlete (»Lulu«). He has appeared at the Wagnertagen Budapest, the Bayreuth Festival, at the Opéra Bastille Paris and at La Scala in Milan. He won first prize at the Kurt Masur Prize composition competition. He joined the ensemble of the Oper Leipzig with the 2018/19 season.
