Biography
Felix Lodel received his first musical training in the Dresden Philharmonic Children’s Choir, then went on to perform in the Philharmonic Youth Choir and the Philharmonic Choir. He also gained early stage experience in the Musical Youth Choir of the Dresden State Operetta, including in »Catch Me If You Can« and »María de Buenos Aires«. The bass began his professional training at the Vocational School of Music in Sulzbach-Rosenberg with classical singing and musical theatre. He is a state-certified ensemble director and completed his vocal studies with KS Prof. Jochen Kupfer at the University of Music in Würzburg. He received artistic inspiration in masterclasses with Laura Aikin, Kristin Sigmundson, Juliane Banse and Florian Boesch. Other formative stages were the opera studio of the Landestheater Linz and accompanying courses at the Anton Bruckner Private University, including singing with Katerina Beranová. In 2024, Felix Lodel was awarded second place at the Upper Austrian Operetta Competition. At the 2025 Operetta and Musical Festival in Bad Hall, he appeared as Sigismund in »Im weißen Rössl« and as Pilate in »Jesus Christ Superstar«. He was also engaged by the Landestheater Linz for the 2025/26 season for the production of »Adam and Eve«. As a concert singer, he has performed works such as Mozart's Requiem and Handel's Dettinger Te Deum and sings regularly as a bass soloist in Salzburg Cathedral. In addition to his classical core repertoire, Felix Lodel also devotes himself to cross-genre programmes and crossover projects.
