Elissa Huber

Biography

In the midst of an established musical theatre career Elissa Huber changed to the Fach of classical Soprano and graduated with a Master in Performance and Singing from the Zurich College of the Arts. She then joined the Opera Studio of Teatro alla Scala in Milan. She then worked for German-speaking opera companies, such as Theater Bern, Theater für Niedersachsen and Volksoper Vienna, where she had a big success in »Die Csardaszfürstin«. More milsteones followed: »Land des Lächelns« (Seefestspielen Mörbisch), Rosalinde in »Die Fledermaus« at  Oper Graz,  the title role in Marc Anthony Turnage's »Anna Nicole« at Staatstheater Wiesbaden, where she also sang Chrysothemis in »Elektra«, Emilia Marty »The Makropulos Case« and Sally Bowles in »Cabaret«. Further highlights of the last seasons include her debut at Zurich and Cologne Operas as Hannah Glawari (»Die lustige Witwe«), Donna Elvira (»Don Giovanni«) for Oper Frankfurt, as well as Agathe (»Der Freischütz«) for Bregenzer Festspiele in 2024. Projects in 2024/25 included the title role in »Das Spitzentuch der Königin« (J. Strauss) for Theater an der Wien, as well as »Waldmeister« (J. Strauss) for Gärtnerplatztheater München.

She will make her debut at the Musikalische Komödie in 2025/26 as Marie in »Der Waffenschmied«.
