Born in Cyprus. Irish citizen, resident in Germany for 35 years. 2012 ECHO Klassik award in the category best DVD production of the year for his production of Wagner's "Ring des Nibelungen", which he created at the Lübeck Theatre. 2011 German Record Critics' Award.
