Musikalische Komödie

The choir of the Musikalische Komödie, directed by Mathias Drechsler since 2008, consists of 27 singers, some of whom also perform in solo roles. The ensemble performs in all productions of the Musikalische Komödie that feature a choir, singing in a constant alternation of operetta, musical and opera. In addition to its high level of performance in the classical field, the choir is characterised by its great enthusiasm, stage presence and dance-like agility. When larger casts are required, guest choir members, mainly students from the Leipzig University of Music and Theatre »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy«, help out, gaining their first professional experience. The choir's programme also includes opera and concert projects, smaller-scale choir parts and guest performances.
