Project management: Christine Dorothea Hölzig, Jeanette and Reinhard Rössler

The SÄCHSISCHE DRUCKGRAFIK.SYMPOSION has been taking place for 30 years. Its goal - the promotion of contemporary printmaking - is consistently and continuously pursued. This is a great success and shows the strength of the Leipzig region as a traditional and current art hot-spot. The SYMPOSION is organized by KÜNSTLERHAUS HOHENOSSIG, located in the north of Leipzig, in cooperation with the BUND BILDENDER KÜNSTLER e.V. and supported by public and private sponsors. The very well equipped workshops and studios guarantee the best framework conditions for intensive graphic work. Five participants were selected from the large number of applications. The jury work was carried out by the architect and chairman of the Freundeskreis Max Klinger eV Rainer Ilg, the artist and chairman of the BUNDES BILDENDER KÜNSTLER LEIPZIG Tobias Rost, the artist and head of the etching workshop at the Munich Academy of Arts, Thomas Sebening, the art historian Christine Dorothea Hölzig and the graphic printer Reinhard Rössler. The experienced graphic printers Jeanette and Reinhard Rössler as well as the artists Gintare Skroblyte from Münster and Robert Schmiedel from Leipzig provide the artists with expert support during SYMPOSION.

The SYMPOSION is funded by the “Leipziger Raum” cultural area, the Sparkasse Leipzig, the Leipzig City Cultural Office, the Römerturm company, the Krostitz community and private donors as well as the BUND BILDENDER KÜNSTLER LEIPZIG e.V.

The SYMPOSION exhibition will open on November 19th, 2020 at 6 p.m. in the concert foyer of the opera house and can be seen on performance days (with opera tickets) and on selected dates (free of charge): on November 28th, December 12th as well as on January 16th. It is open on these days from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and there are free guided tours. www.druckgrafik-roessler.de
