Stephan Klemm


studied voice at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig. While he was a student, he received his first engagement at the Hans Otto Theater Potsdam. He was a freelance singer from 1997-2002, and during this time appeared at the Theater Rostock, the German-Sorbian National Theater in Bautzen, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Lausitzer Opernsommer, and the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele. He was a member of the ensembles at the Theater Coburg and the Nuremberg State Theater. He became freelance once again in 2008, and has since enjoyed guest engagements at the theatres of Erfurt, Freiburg, Augsburg, Würzburg, Dortmund, as well as at the National Theatres of Weimar and Mannheim, the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich and the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck. He made his  debut as Hagen (Götterdämmerung) at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau. He has appeared at the Oper Leipzig as Fafner in the concert performance of Siegfried, as the Hunter/Dwarf Kwarz in Snow White, and in the 2019/20 season appears as Fasolt in Das Rheingold.
