Roland Schubert

Biografie

Studied voice and was an aspirant from the Musikhochschule Leipzig. He was an Oper Leipzig ensemble member from 1989 - 2001, and from 1991 additionally at the Staatsoper Wien. He has appeared on stage in Milan, Munich, Dresden, and Hamburg. He has appeared on the concert podium with the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Wiener Symphoniker, the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, and the MDR-Sinfonieorchester. He was named Kammersänger in 2001. He has appeared as a guest at the Oper Leipzig in roles including Baculus im »Wildschütz«, Dr. Bartolo in »Figaros Hochzeit«, Kuno in »Der Freischütz«, Harald in »Die Feen«, Antonio in »Le nozze di Figaro«, and Larkens in »La fanciulla del West«. He has bowed at the Musikalische Komödie as Sir John Falstaff in »Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor« and Blasius Römer in »Schwarzwaldmädel«. He returns as a guest for the 2021/22 season as Harald in »Die Feen«.
