Markus Brück

Biografie

Was born in Speyer. He studied voice with Alejandro Ramirez and Kurt Moll. He has had engagements at the Theater der Stadt Hagen, at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, and at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. He has been a member of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper Berlin since 2001, and was named »Kammersänger der deutschen Oper« in 2011. Guest appearances have taken him across the globe to houses including the Metropolitan Opera, the Opernhaus Zürich, the Théatre du Capitole Toulouse, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Opéra de Paris Bastille, the Semperoper Dresden, the Theater Basel, the Berliner Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Staatsoper Stuttgart, as well as the National Opera Helsinki, La Scala in Milan, the New National Opera Tokyo, and the Bayreuther Festspiele. His repertoire includes roles such as Almaviva in »Le nozze di Figaro«, Valentin in »Faust«, Posa in »Don Carlo«, Marcello in »La bohème«, Germont in »La traviata«, Wotan in »Das Rheingold«, Beckmesser in »Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg« as well as Papageno in »Die Zauberflöte« and the title role in »Rigoletto«. He bows at the Oper Leipzig in the 2021/22 season as Alberich in »Der Ring des Nibelungen«.
