Manuela Uhl

Biografie

Studied in Salzburg, Zurich, and Freiburg. She has been a member of the ensemble at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and at the Bühnen der Landeshauptstadt Kiel. She has been a member of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper Berlin since the 2006/07 season, where she has bowed as in principle roles in »Germania« by A. Franchetti, »Traumgörge« by A. v. Zemlinsky, »Salome«, Agathe in »Freischütz«, Nedda in »Bajazzo«, Senta in Wagner’s »Holländer«, Elisabeth in »Tannhäuser«, Empress in »Frau ohne Schatten« and Liu in »Turandot«. She has appeared as a guest at the Staatsoper Hamburg, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Staatsoper Berlin, at the Theater Wiesbaden, Theater Mannheim, Oper Montpellier, at the Händelfestspiele in Karlsruhe and Halle/Saale. She made her debut in Tokyo as Leonore in »Fidelio«. She appears on a variety of CD recordings of complete operas. She has appeared at the Oper Leipzig as the Marschallin in »Der Rosenkavalier«, Elisabeth in »Tannhäuser«, and the title role in »Salome«. The 2021/22 season sees her as Isabella in »Das Liebesverbot« and Irene in »Rienzi«.
