Kirstin Sharpin

Biografie

Studied English and Italian at the University of Auckland, and voice at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She completed her Master of Opera degree with distinction, and also trained at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice. Her repertoire includes roles such as Isolde (»Tristan und Isolde«), Senta (»Der fliegende Holländer«), Mariana (»Das Liebesverbot«), Gerhilde and Helmwige (»Der Ring des Nibelungen«), the title roles in »Fidelio«, Puccini’s »Suor Angelica«, Weber’s »Euryanthe« and Smetana’s »Libuše«,  the mother (»Hänsel und Gretel«), Elettra (»Idomeneo«), Donna Anna (»Don Giovanni«) as well as Anna (in the lockdown opera »A Life Reset«). She has appeared with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Thüringer Symphoniker, as well as at opera houses including the Theater Nordhausen, Melbourne Opera, Garsington Opera at West Green, Opera Holland Park, Blackheath Halls Opera, Chelsea Opera Group, and at the Longborough Festival and the Buxton Festival. She appears at the Oper Leipzig in the 2021/22 season as Ada in »Die Feen«.
