Jürgen Kirner


Studied visual communication and set design in Kassel, Hamburg, and Berlin. He is active as a freelance costume and set designer for theater, music theater, performance, and dance. His first professional engagements were at theDüsseldorfer Schauspielhaus as well as with productions for the Stadshouwburg Antwerp, the Stadttheater Krefeld, Staatstheater Meiningen, Staatstheater Cottbus, Opernhaus Halle, Landestheater Salzburg, Theater Erfurt, and the Theater Bern. He is a regular costume and set designer for productions by stage director Aron Stiehl. He has worked on musicals in cooperation with Peter Lund, including at the Neuköllner Oper in Berlin. He is the set designer for Pascale Chevroton. He is also active in the dance world, including regular collaborations with the Kevin O’Day-Ballett at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, as well as with the Stuttgarter Staatsballett, and the choreographer Bridget Breiner, primarily at the Musiktheater im Revier. He appeared at the Oper Leipzig in the 2013 / 14 season as the set designer for »Das Liebesverbot«.
