Elena Pankratova


Was born in Ekaterinburg. She studied in St. Petersburg. She has won prizes in numerous singing competitions. She made her international breakthrough as the Dyer’s Wife (»Die Frau ohne Schatten«) at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the direction of Zubin Mehta in 2017. Following that, she was invited to sing the same role at La Scala in Milan, the Teatro Colón Buenos Aires, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Opéra National de Paris, Det Kongelige Teater Kopenhagen, as well as at the Staatsoper Berlin and the Bayerische Staatsoper. She made her Bayreuther Festival debut in 2016 Kundry (»Parsifal«). She won the »Casta Diva« opera prize as best female singer of the year in 2018 for her interpretations of Kundry and the Dyer’s Wife. She has bowed at the Wiener Staatsoper, theSemperoper Dresden, the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg, the Opéra national de Paris, La Monnaie Brüssel, as well as in Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Oslo, Savonlinna, Neapel, Florenz, andd Tokyo with roles such as Leonore (»Fidelio«), Odabella (»Attila«), Abigaille (»Nabucco«), Leonora (»Il trovatore«), Amelia (»Un ballo in maschera«), Senta (»Der fliegende Holländer«), Venus (»Tannhäuser«), Ortrud (»Lohengrin«), Sieglinde (»Die Walküre«), Brünnhilde (»Siegfried«), Santuzza (»Cavalleria rusticana«), as well as the title roles of Norma, Tosca, Turandot, Elektra, and Ariadne. She appears at the Oper Leipzig in the 2021/22 season as Kundry in »Parsifal«.
