Aron Stiehl


Was born in Wiesbaden. He studied music theater direction at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg under the direction of Götz Friedrich. He was a Spielleiter at the Bayerische Staatsoper from 1996 to 2001, where he staged »Dido and Aeneas« (2001) and the world premiere of »Medusa« (2005). He has lived in Berlin since 2001 and is active as a freelance stage director. He was invited to Tel Aviv to stage Mozart’s »Die Entführung aus dem Serail« with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta in 2007. Mehta brought him to Florence and Valencia in 2009 to stage »Götterdämmerung« with La Fura dels Baus. He has also helmed productions at the Großes Festspielhaus/Landestheater Salzburg, at the Badischen Staatstheater Karlsruhe, in Klagenfurt, St. Gallen, Halle, Magdeburg, Bern, Bielefeld, Erfurt, Meiningen, Heidelberg, Coburg, Oldenburg, Münster, Augsburg, Görlitz, Kaiserslautern, Passau, Halberstadt, Flensburg, Eisenach, at the Tollwood-Festival in Munich, at the Münchner Gasteig and at the Kammeroper Hamburg. He was stage director for the 2013 production of »Das Liebesverbot« at the Oper Leipzig through a cooperation with the Bayreuther Festspiele, BF Medien.
