Allison Oakes


Was born in Great Britain. She studied voice with Prof. Gudrun Fischer. From 2006-09 she was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Darmstadt and has been a freelance singer since 2009. Her repertoire includes Isolde (»Tristan und Isolde«), Senta (»Der fliegende Holländer«), Elsa (»Lohengrin«), Venus/Elisabeth (»Tannhäuser«), the Marschallin (»Der Rosenkavalier«), Chrysothemis (»Elektra«), Marie (»Wozzeck«), Marietta (»Die tote Stadt«) and the title role in »Salome«. Guest engagements have led her to the Metropolitan Opera New York, the Bayreuth Festival, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Staatsoper Hamburg, the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi Trieste, the Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, the Opéra de Dijon, the Boston Lyric Opera, the Cape Town Opera, as well as to the opera houses in Cologne, Regensburg, Coburg, Basel, Nuremberg, Innsbruck, Münster, Wuppertal, Oldenburg, and Dortmund, as well as to the Budapest Wagner Festival. She appears at the Oper Leipzig in the 2021/22 season as Brünnhilde in »Die Walküre«.
