Information about the cancellation of performances

None

In order to further reduce the risk of infection with the Corona virus, the State of Saxony has decided by general order to close almost all private and public institutions and prohibit all events. The decision of the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion is valid from March 19th, 2020, midnight until April 20th, 2020.

As a result of this general ruling, there will be no in-house or external events or lessons in the in-house culture of the City of Leipzig until April 20th, 2020. Public traffic is also prohibited. For this reason, the ticket office in the opera house remains closed. However, you can still reach us via phone, in writing and by email.

  • How long are the performances canceled?

The general decree of the city of Leipzig, which for us as for all in-house culture in Leipzig was the basis for the decision to cancel all events, is valid until April 20th, 2020.
We will continue to inform you about the current developments.
  • When will the normal performance schedule return?

The general decree of the city of Leipzig, which for us, as for all in-house cultural organizations in Leipzig, was the basis for the decision to cancel all of our own events (this also applies to guided tours and special events), will apply until April 19th, 2020.
We hope to be able to return to a regular performance schedule afterwards. However, the same applies to all considerations beyond April 20th, 2020: The safety of our visitors and our employees is our top priority.
