Leipziger Ballett
In the finale of our anniversary series the partners of Leipzig Ballet talk about working with Mario Schröder.
Friday 23.07.2021The cosmos of Leipzig Ballet under the guidance of Artistic Director and Chief Choreographer Mario Schröder surpasses the stage of the opera house. With various cooperations within the city as well as the series »Dance in the Houses« the Leipzig Ballet challenges viewing patterns and shares always new perceptions of dance as an artform. To finish our series #marioschroeder10 a few of our partners within the city share their experience. On to the next ten years with many beautiful cooperations.
Director of the Schauspiel Leipzig: »Mario Schröder was one of the first people in Leipzig’s cultural scene that invited me to talk and collaborate after I was appointed. Starting there three full-length evenings have been created since (even though Covid also interrupted this cooperation), that bring Mario’s vision of ballet on the stage of Schauspiel Leipzig to life: The company was so close, so fast and in so direct contact with the audience while interpreting different choreographic languages. Thank you for the idea and initiative! And the best wishes to Mario and his team for the ten-year anniversary!«
Artistic Director and Manager of LOFFT: »Mario Schröder last but not least is characterized by his openness towards new artistic forms, not only on the stage of the opera house, and is a choreographer who always reinvents himself. His joy of seeking and exploring new things with his dancers is a huge enrichment for the dance scene in our city. Thanks to him the Leipzig Ballet is opening itself towards other forms of work. In the series INTERSHOP, which was especially created for this purpose, his dancers can develop their own artistic ideas for choreografies in other places and are allowed to experiment around. Since 2017 LOFFT – DAS THEATER is a partner of the INTERSHOP series.«
Anne-Cathrin Lessel»The dancers get the chance to gain insight and exchange with Leipzig's free dance scene and to develop small creations of their own which are performed at the LOFFT.«
Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig: »In November 2018, the Kunstkraftwerk had the pleasure of collaborating with the Leipzig Ballet and the choreographer Mario Schröder, hosting a thrilling dance show wrapped in immersive 360 ° projections inspired by the theme ›Renaissance Experience - Florence and the Uffizi‹. Kunstkraftwerk is the first museum in Germany entirely dedicated to multimedia arts and digital experiences.«
